Marry in Scandal

Anne Gracie books are quite enjoyable. Her writings are exquisite, and the secondary characters are usually as delightful as the lead couple. Marry in Scandal is the second book in the Marriage of Convenience series, and it is fine as a stand-alone. The story of Lily and Edward is strong enough to carry the book without knowing all the back story.

I absolutely loved the way the author brought Edward around to recognizing his love for Lily. Even when he is determined to protect her tender heart from his callous one, he is vulnerable to her charms and can't keep himself away. Lily was a fantastic heroine and I found myself rooting for her every step of the way. *JK*

A Rogue of Her Own

A Rogue of Her Own is the fourth book in the Windham Brides series by Grace Burrowes. Although part of a series it can easily be read as a standalone, but it is nice to catch up with characters from the previous stories.

Charlotte is the last of the unmarried Windham women. But you know that won't last long. Sherbourne, who was a bit of a villain in the previous book, "No Other Duke Will Do" turns out to have fascinating depth, intelligence and a handful of insecurities that attract the prickly Miss Windham. Very outspoken and not suffering fools lightly, she is very attracted to this self-made, wealthy commoner. As Charlotte's past is revealed, a sad reason for her bitterness becomes turning point in their relationship. *JK*

Luca

You will instantly get sucked into the world of Ruin and Revenge when you read the second series, Luca, one of the mafia bad boys. The author spares no details with the grittiness of her stories. These are not your fluffly mafia guys that you know are bad but never see their sides. Oh no. You see it, feel it, and downright taste it in these books. As the senior capo for the Toscani crime family, Luca may take his fashion seriously with his three piece suits, but he's certainly not afraid to get his hands dirty. When he takes a bullet for his boss, Nico, a visit to the hospital changes everything for the man that never thought he'd find himself in love. *JK*

Under Pressure

What can I say about Under Pressure, other than I absolutely loved it? It's a first book in the new Body Armor series by Lori Foster. It's a spin-off from the Ultimate series were we first met Leese. He has left the MMA world to become a security guard for Body Armor. He is assigned to keep Catalina safe from an unknown threat. Catalina has been trying to live her own life from being under her stepfather's thumb. But when she hears the wrong conversation, her life is in danger.

Under Pressure was a very interesting and enjoyable read, filled with both suspense and tender emotion and if this story is anything to go by, I'll say that this new series is off to a great start! *JK*

Breath of Fire

Breath of Fire by Amanda Bouchet actually starts right where A Promise of Fire left off. This is undoubtedly one of the best fantasy/romance series I've found in a very long time! The plot is riveting,  the pace is exciting and the characters are both well developed and very easy to fall in love with.

The blend of fantasy with mystery and mythology is what really did me in, not to mention the over the top steamy romance that was every bit as hard to resist. And while some things still remained predictable, the writing and storyline still managed to hook and lure you in until the very last page was turned. It was completely irresistible and hard to put down. *JK*

A Wedding For Christmas

A Wedding for Christmas by Lori Wilde is a delightful read. It is one of the best Christmas stories out there and it reads like a Hallmark movie but with some passionate and sultry scenes. You will fall in love with Katie and Ryder and root for their love all along. This story is filled with some deep family values and struggles that we can all relate to, to some degree. Also, the town of Twilight, Texas just draws you into their charm and Christmas festivities, the scenery in this book is so vivid you will feel as if you're walking right down the streets.

It's a great love story, a perfect setting and lots of holiday action keep this story moving, An enjoyable holiday treat! *JK*

The Right Kind of Trouble

The Right Kind of Trouble by Shiloh Walker was surprisingly a well written book. The characters were fully fleshed out and the storyline was great. The balance between the suspense, love story and the family was perfect. The twists were spot on and the book was a smooth yet gripping read. Shiloh Walker wrote a great story here.

For almost 20 years Gideon had been holding on to his love for Moira but when the last year only brings more heartache, he decides that it is finally time to leave the town of Mckay's Treasure. Moira, on the other hand, has played the martyr and punished herself by refusing to accept Gideon's love but when it looks like he might finally be done, it snaps something inside her.*JK*

Every Bride Has Her Day

Every Bride Has Her Day is the second book in the Magnolia Brides series, and it can be read as a stand-alone. It is not dependent on the first book to understand the characters. This book can touch your heart and the ending is so wonderful it can make you cry. It is a story of finding your one true love and this story is about Cricket and Sam.

As Cricket and Sam work side by side on the old house and on her flower shop, the sparks start to fly. With the help of a homeless dog, who will howl up a blue streak until they give in and kiss, these two might have found more than they bargained for. *JK*

My American Duchess

My American Duchess by Eloisa James is another great read. I enjoyed the romance, the characters and seeing them grow together in love. James writes wonderfully romantic stories and this wasn't any different. It is not exactly a fairy tale novel. But it does have similar quality of fairy tales plots where an American heiress who arrives in London in search of a husband and ends up a duchess to her great surprise.

James combines a handful of proven  tropes in this one: love at first sight, twins, love triangle, and marriage in trouble as well as the obvious American in London. If you know James's work, you will not be surprised that she gives each of these a twist that makes it her own. *JK*

Anything for You

If you want a sweet, funny, lovable read that will leave a smile on your face and sometimes happy tears in your eyes, Kristan Higgin's Anything for You is the right choice. You will love her writing style and humor and heart that she bleeds into every single page.

Her Blue Heron series is by far one of my most favorite series and I love everything there is to love about it. The small town setting, the nosy neighbors, the lovable Holland family and of course, all the other characters that make this town so unique, fun, and enjoyable. But my heart went out for Connor and Jessica-their ups and downs, torment, and love/hate relationship. It was an emotional and yet a beautiful story. *JK*

I'll Be Home for Christmas

I'll Be Home for Christmas by Lori Wilde is definitely a keeper. In this love story, Gabi is such a giving person. She is so compassionate and tender hearted. She wants to make everyone happy, but inside she's in a great pain. She lost her older brother from cancer leaving her parents in distress. Joe is a charmer and a flirt, but he's a softie. He's always honorable. He makes Gabi feel alive. Gabi and Joe both endured so much. They deserve to find love and happiness. This book is remarkable and is guaranteed to put you in the holiday spirit. Lori Wilde knows how to weave a story that has it all. There is love, laughter, joy and pain. *JK*

A Winter Wedding

A Winter Wedding is a wonderful romance and it's part of Brenda Novak's entire Whiskey Creek series. It is a must read! I love the group of friends in the small community Novak has created. Kyle is one of the last to remain single. He gave his heart a long time ago to Olivia, but she loves and is married to his step-brother Brandon all because of a mistake he made with her sister, Noelle. In the previous books he is such a great guy, always there for his friends, successful in his business, but heartbroken. *JK*

Evergreen Springs

This story was so sweet and a lovely romance to read. Evergreen Springs is the third series by Rayanne Thayne but this book could be read as a standalone. The author has a knack for capturing the essence and spirit of living in a small town. It was a joy to read about the interesting, fun, caring people of Haven Point.
I especially enjoyed reading about Devin and Cole! I did expect more than a few stolen kisses during this book but I still thought it was sweet. The way the town pulled together to help Cole and his children during a difficult time was sweet and touching. *JK*

Forever with You

Watch out, the second you pick up Forever with You, you are about to embark on an emotional roller coaster to beat all contemporary romance emotional roller coaster. This book was fantastic! From start to finish you are immersed in Stephanie and Nick... the ups, the downs and the laughter that makes fictional characters people. *JK*

When a Scot Ties the Knot

When a Scot Ties the Knot written by Tessa Dare is both funny and endearing. This sweet story had me laughing out loud, enraptured in the sexual tension and smiling at the attempts not to fall in love all the while cheering for Logan and Maddie to find their happily ever after.

The story is set in the time after the Scot's lost the Highlands to the English, Maddie, a young girl who has no desire to be presented for marriage and doesn't want to marry for anything other than love. So this quiet and shy artist comes up with a way to keep her family from making her marry. She invents the love of her life, a completely fictitious Highlander Captain Logan MacKenzie. *JK*

All of Me

If you are into baseball romance, small-town romance, and likable characters who persevere through whatever obstacles life throws at them, then consider reading All of Me by Jennifer Bernard.
Baseball pitcher Caleb Hart is currently straddling the lines between the major and minor leagues. Right now he's the new guy on the Kilby Catfish minor league team. If he can just improve his game a little more his career can finally take off in the right direction. He meets and works closely with Sadie Merritt on a PR project. For Caleb and Sadie, the sparks definitely fly, and the chemistry between them is irresistible. *JK*

Suddenly One Summer

Suddenly One Summer is a new story by Julie James. In this story, Victoria Slade is a successful divorce attorney and has definite commitment issues and she's jumped to the wrong conclusion about her new neighbor Ford Dixon. Ford is an investigative reporter and doesn't like the assumptions she's made about him and goes out of his way to antagonize her. I really enjoyed reading about Victoria and Ford's romance. They have a love/hate relationship, but it was clear to see where each of them were coming from, and when things started moving along, they had a really nice flow. I felt like everything just fell into place naturally. *JK*

The Duke's Disaster

It's exciting to always read a novel by Grace Burrowes. The Duke's Disaster was a fantastic read. With sweet romance, charming humor, and a few secrets lurking in the past. But despite the weird start, Thea and Noah quickly came to care for each other, though they didn't want to admit it at first, showing it through their actions instead. They were very sweet together and they definitely had sensuous chemistry between them that turned up the heat on more than one occasion. The mix of humor, charm, and romance really made the story enjoyable and the ending was just perfect! *JK*

Broken

Broken is written by Cynthia Eden. This was a great read and there is so much action. If you love action and suspense with a love story thrown in, this is the one for you! Cynthia Eden took this romantic suspense story and totally blew me away.

In this story, Eve Gray is a women looking for her identity. She awoke in a hospital with no clue who she was or how she got there. She reaches out to Gabe Spencer, the owner of LOST, an organization that helps locate missing people. Except in this case, Eve wants Gabe to help her find herself. As they work to find out who she is and what happened, she discovers she may be the only person to escape a serial killer and the key to putting a stop to the killing spree. *JK*

Back in the Game

Back in the Game by Lori Wilde, has a good story line. It is also heartwarming, heartbreaking, compassionate and funny. The story is set in the town to Stardust, Texas where baseball is lived and breathed for most of the town folks. They love their hometown baseball hero Rowdy Blanton, who playing days came to an end when he was brutally attacked and he has come home to recover from his injury. He meets Breeanne Carlyle, who helps him write his memoir and just seems to know what goes in to recover his surgeries. Lori Wilde did a great job starting this new series! It also has romance, mystery and even a little magic! *JK*
